Summary of Scope of Services

The Government of Mongolia received financing from the Asian Development Bank to implement the Upscaling Renewable Energy Sector Project.

The project will develop 41 megawatts (MW) of distributed renewable energy systems with a range of renewable energy technologies supplying clean electricity and heat in geographically scattered load centers in the less-developed region of western Mongolia. Once completed, the project will generate 99 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity annually, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emission by 87,968 tons per year.

A total of five detailed environmental impact assessments (DEIAs) to be developed as perLaw on Environmental Impact Assessment (2012, amended 2017).
